Record temps across the Bay State

Today’s temperature soared to 69 degrees at Boston’s Logan airport, seven degrees higher than the previous record for January 6, set in 1913, said Kimberly Buttrick of the National Weather Service in Taunton.
There’s also a new record high in Worcester, which has reached 65 degrees today, breaking the record of 57 degrees set in 1953.
Last year tied 1998 for the fourth-warmest year on record in Massachusetts, with an average temperature of about 53.1 degrees.
The National Weather Service has been keeping track of weather in Boston since 1872.
